Back Yard Photographer – Feeling a Little Fowl Today

It has been a couple of weeks since I was able to go to my favorite lake and get some photos. The deer were hiding this time so I mostly got photos of ducks and geese. Below are a few of my favorites.

Ahhhh… nice day for a swim
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!?!?!!??
On our way to an early morning breakfast.
THE best place for snack on the lake!
Taking a rest and soaking up some sun before continuing the travels.
Early bird gets to the destination first!!
Starting ascent
We will go with the next group.

Seems that most times when I go out and just have fun taking photos I usually end up with a surprise in a few of the photos. The following are not good photos, as you can tell, but I was really excited about the surprise any way. Now I know where to go to get better photos! 🙂

In this photo I was trying to capture the geese in a line flying away. Off to the left of this image is a larger bird. I didn’t notice it at all when I was taking the photo.

At first glance back at home, I thought it was a hawk and that the angle of the photo made it appear bigger than it was. Well when I cropped the photo and made a few adjustments (still not an excellent picture), I could tell what it was.

A bald eagle!! It was actually a goal this year to capture a photo of a bald eagle in the wild. I think this counts as achieving my goal. After all the goal didn’t indicate the quality of the photo! 🙂 Hopefully the next one will be better!

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog!!
